I graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a B.A. degree in Finance. After volunteering with several military organizations providing financial education to servicemembers, I applied for and was granted the FINRA Foundation Military Spouse Fellowship. I completed the Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC®) designation in 2020, developed in partnership with the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE®) and have served as a Fellow and AFCPE® symposium applicant reviewer annually since.
Tax work is work that I genuinely love; I focus on forward-looking tax planning to help move a client’s tax expectations into alignment with their tax outcomes. I enjoy being consistently challenged by ever-changing laws and am dedicated to building lasting client relationships. In order to further my education and show my commitment to the field I earned the Enrolled Agent designation, issued directly from the IRS, and am currently working toward the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) designation to round out my ability to serve clients across all areas of finance.
I opened KB Financial Planning in 2022 in order to be able to focus more on the kinds of clients I’m most passionate about (hello, servicemembers!), and to provide the kind of quality and commitment they deserve.
My husband and I have been together for two decades and I’ve been a military spouse and mom for all of those years. I was raised in Alaska but thanks to his most recent PCS orders I now happily reside in Washington state. Despite many moves between then and now, the beautiful PNW has always had my heart. Aside from spending time with family, I love gardening, tending to my chickens, camping and traveling whenever I get the chance.
